Chemical Peel for Scars, Fine Lines and Pigments

Chemical Peel or Skin Peel can be generally used for the face, neck and in the lower extremities. Patient usually decides to use this to reduce fine lines around the eyes and the area near the mouth. Wrinkles caused by too much sun exposure can also be minimized with proper maintenance with sun block, moisturizer or tretinoin. Age spots, freckles, pigmentation and other discolorations are just a few things that can be treated with chemical peel.

Take note that to get the best result with chemical peeling, one must avoid sun exposure and apply sun block with spf30. It must be a broad spectrum sun block that protects against the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. It is also best to use a mild facial wash, and tretinoin for skin renewal.

Severe wrinkles, deep acne scars or pock marks are better treated with skin needling (or what other calls derma rolling) or fractional co2 laser. Find a reputable clinic with an FDA approved machine.  For this purpose, patients either use TCA for a deeper peel or Glycolic Peel for an afternoon peel in varying concentrations.

Make sure to through clean makeup and dirt before applying tca peel or chemical peel. You will wash your face 24 hours after. During application, expect a minor tingling sensation and itchy feeling that can be relieved with cold compress or sodium bicarbonate. Apply petroleum jelly near the eyes, insides of the nose and area beside the mouth.  Apply cream reliever or any anti inflammatory to relieve itch and redness.

Underarm Sweating

Nothing can be as daunting as having dark and sweaty armpits or underarms this summer, especially out in public. And why not, when the temperature is at 39 degrees outside!

Having dark underarms can be extremely bothersome, and not to mention, lower your self-esteem. Women cannot wear sleeveless blouses and cocktail dresses that can otherwise expose the discoloration for other people to see – which by the way, can be a turn off. Women need not suffer from this nuisance since there are a lot of different natural and clinical treatments available today. The first step to treating dark armpits is identifying what causes it. But what are the factors that cause this discoloration?

Excessive Sweating or Hyperhidrosis

Excessive sweating can cause bacteria also called cornyebacterium minutissimumto be trapped in the skin that can result in pigmentation or discoloration of the underarm area. This bacterium is responsible for excessive sweating and bad odor, and others say, may be responsible for developing dark armpits as well.

Keeping this in mind, men and women are encourage to try Underarm Botox also called as Sweatox, wherein 100 units of botulinum toxin A is injected to the underarms to control excessive sweating or severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, when topical medication is not working anymore. It is also believed that the acid in a woman’s perspiration can lead to pigmentation after a laser hair removal treatment.

Too much Abrasion

Friction caused by wearing tight clothes can cause underarm discoloration. This also holds true when a woman uses loofah or other abrasive materials to exfoliate the underarms, since the area is already very thin and sensitive as it is.

Shaving

Shaving regularly can cause the armpits to darken or pigment. Razors, when used on a daily basis causes abrasion, and the razor over time accumulate bacteria or rust, which can cause infection to your underarm or folliculitis. Razor bumps leave dark spots and usually fades away when shaving is discontinued. Thus, medical grade Laser Hair Removal is encouraged for best results.

Harsh Deodorants

Strong chemicals and fragrance can burn the skin and leave dark pigments over time. The dehydrated skin dies and accumulates in the armpits. Accumulation of dead skin collects sweat, which as you all know contributes to discoloration. Use milcu powder or mild deodorants from your trusted dermatologist.

Pregnancy

The skin darkens during pregnancy, but this supposedly dissipates over time. For some who still suffers even months after giving birth, using of whitening products, such as regular or mild whitening cream for Kate Jones is encouraged, including use of the underarm package to reduce not only the pigmentation, but the chicken skin as well. There are other services that help with whitening like several sessions of Revlite and/ or ITED from the Alma Lasers, where lightening infusions are used together with the ITED Impact Hand piece for 100% penetration of the whitening medication.

Keep these in mind and you are on your way to lightening and improving the color and texture of your underarms. Stop hiding your skin and show the confident you.
